Jimmer Fredette talks recovery

Jimmer just dropped 73 points in game… now how does he recover his body after that!?

How I recovery physically and mentally?

Recovery is one of the biggest parts to being able to perform well on a daily basis.  You need to have your full energy in order to perform at your highest level.  There are several ways that I recover.  First is stretching and foam rolling.  I do this every day both before and after I work out.  Foam Rolling and muscle tissue recovery is important to get all the knots out of your body while the stretching helps with injury prevention.  Another recovery tactic which is simple is to eat!  Eat healthy but also a lot after you work out.  I like to do a protein shake with the rest of my meal.  Turkey, avocados, spinach, tomatoes, chicken, rice, beans are all things I eat after workouts depending on the day.  That will get that protein into your body which is key to becoming stronger and performing better.

Mental Break

After that I like to get my mind off basketball and mentally recover.  This is almost just as important as physically recovering.  I go hang with family, play with the dog, watch movies, and do other things to get my mind away from the game.  By doing that I’ll be mentally rejuvenated to get back after it the next day!  Those are some recovery things I do every day that are simple and everyone can do!

How do you recover!?
