Have you guys heard of cold exposure? I wasn’t too familiar with it until a year or so ago. I’m gonna break down the benefits of cold exposure and why you should add it into your daily routine. I’ll also break down a simple and effective way to do it daily.
What is cold exposure?
The term cold exposure is referring to placing your body in extreme cold water for a short period of time. Jumping in a cold river, cold pool, or having a cold shower are ways you can experience the term, ‘cold exposure.’
Why cold How exposure?
- Cold exposure boosts your energy
- Improves your immune system
- Wakes your body up
- Puts in you a powerful energized state.
- Reduces imflammation
- Speeds up metabolism
This is a great thing to do every morning because it helps you wake up and be more alert for the day!
How to do it daily
The best way to do this daily is to use the shower. When I first started this I had to get over the myth that if I ended my shower on cold I would be cold after I got out. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. After every cold shower I always feel energized and warm and ready for the day.
How I take a Cold shower
There are many ways to take a cold shower. You can do straight cold and only cold (this is intense and takes a lot of mental strength) or you can take a hot shower and then end your shower on cold.
Take a normal shower and then turn it to as cold as possible placing your face and front and back to the cold.
- Level 1- stay in the cold for 15 seconds
- level 2- stay in the cold for 30 seconds
- level 3- stay in the cold for 1 minutes
- level 4- stay in the cold for 3 minutes
I would recommend starting with level one for the first week and gradually building up as you go! I’m excited to hear what you guys think!
